Tickr ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Tickr mobile application and web application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.

• Account Information: When you sign in using Google, GitHub, Apple, or email, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your authentication provider.
• Watchlist Data: The stocks, ETFs, cryptocurrencies, and commodities you add to your watchlist, along with associated price data.
• Usage Data: Basic app usage information such as which features you use and when you access the Service.
• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for troubleshooting and improving the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the Service, including your personalized watchlist
• Authenticate your identity and secure your account
• Fetch real-time and historical financial data for assets you track
• Generate AI-powered market summaries using aggregated news data
• Improve and optimize the Service
• Communicate with you about service updates

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Service. Each has its own privacy policy governing data use:

• Firebase Authentication (Google): For user sign-in and identity management
• Yahoo Finance: For real-time and historical stock, ETF, and commodity price data
• CoinGecko: For real-time cryptocurrency price data
• Finnhub: For symbol search and autocomplete
• OpenAI: For generating AI market briefings from public news headlines
• Google News: For aggregating public news articles
• Neon (PostgreSQL): For secure cloud database storage

We do not sell or share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in a cloud-hosted PostgreSQL database. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections, secure authentication tokens, and access controls to protect your information.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and watchlist data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated personal data (account information and watchlist data) will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View the personal data we store about you
• Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the Settings screen in the app
• Portability: Request a copy of your data
• Withdraw Consent: Stop using the Service and delete your account at any time

7. Account Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the Settings screen within the app. Upon deletion, we will permanently remove your account information, watchlist data, and any other personal data from our systems. This action is irreversible.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
